Reduce Global Warming & Preserve Our Planet.
By generating our solar power, we are doing our part to lessen America’s dependence on fossil fuels. Not to mention the obvious reduction in air-polluting chemicals and particulate matter that cause harm to all living organisms and the natural environment.
We are doing our part to reduce global warming, air pollution, natural disasters and ultimately preserve our planet. The following are the benefits of our system over the first 30 years of production.
Impact on Emissions
Our solar system will reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions by 9,339,076 lbs. This is equivalent to 18,607,995 vehicle miles not traveled. This is equivalent to planting 22,361 mature trees.
Impact on Fossil Fuel Consumption
Americans emit about 15,000 pounds of Carbon per person annually making us the world’s largest per-capita contributor to global warming. 82% of these emissions are the result of burning fossil fuels for either automobiles or generating electricity.
Our system will conserve the burning of 13,351 barrels of oil.
Impact on Polluting Emissions
Nitrogen Oxides are a major contributor to smog and air-induced respiratory problems. Our system will reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions by 3,002 lbs. Nitrogen and Sulfur Oxide are the primary components of acid rain.
Our System will reduce Nitrogen and Sulfur Oxide emissions by 3,302 lbs.
Recycling
Our efforts to protect the planet go well beyond the clean energy generated by our solar array. As a consumer of a great deal of materials, Heritage Sign realized long ago that we had a responsibility to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible.
Today we have extensive recycling processes in place to recycle waste generated here at the plant, including:
- Wood
- Acrylic
- Styrene
- Other Plastics
- Glass
- Coatings
- Corrugated
- Other Paper Products

We have developed science-based targets that are aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Our targets are to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and to become carbon neutral by 2050.
We do not have any plans to submit our targets to the SBTi for review. We believe that our targets are ambitious enough to help us achieve our climate goals, and we are confident that we can meet them without the need for external validation.
We are committed to transparency and accountability in our sustainability reporting. We will publish our progress towards our targets on our website and in our annual sustainability report.
We welcome feedback on our science-based targets. Please send your comments to esg@popsigns.com.
HSD Greenhouse Gas Emissions
HSD is committed to sustainability and to reducing our environmental impact. We are currently working on collecting Scope 1 and Scope 3 data, but we do not have this data available at this time.
However, we can provide our Scope 2 emissions for the 2022 calendar year.
Our Scope 2 emissions for the 2022 calendar year were X.
These emissions were generated from the purchase of electricity, steam, heat, and cooling. We are working to reduce our Scope 2 emissions by investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
We will continue to work on collecting Scope 1 and Scope 3 data and will share this data as soon as it is available. We are committed to transparency and accountability in our sustainability reporting, and we believe that it is important to share our environmental impact with our stakeholders.
